Disney World Restaurants: Table Service At It's Best
Deciding which Disney World restaurants to choose can be one of the hardest decisions to make when planning your trip. There are over 200 places to get food, and over 90 table service restaurants—over 30 of them are inside the theme parks.
Some of the Disney World restaurants not only have good food, some also have a very fun atmosphere, unique décor, or a great location for viewing fireworks. And many of them offer the opportunity to meet your favorite Disney characters.
In this guide, we are going to give an overview of many of the questions asked about Dining at a Disney World restaurant with table service. Plus, we will provide links to menus of all the table service restaurants in Disney World so that you can start deciding where you want to dine on your next trip. Since many restaurants book up early, you will want to start planning as far in advance as possible.
5 Tips for Table Service Disney World Restaurants
1. Make Advance Dining Reservations
Some Disney World restaurants are extremely popular and will book up months in advance. You can make dining reservations 60 days in advance of your stay. If you have a Disney World resort reservation, you can make dining reservations for your entire stay starting 60 days from your check-in date.
Dining reservations are made through your My Disney Experience account beginning at 6:00 AM EST online. You can all call 407-WDW-DINE to make your dining reservations beginning at 7:00 AM EST. However, Disney has reduced the staff taking calls for reservations so you may have to wait a long time.
If you have your heart set on a specific restaurant, you should plan to be up and at your computer before 6:00. If you are working with a Disney Travel Planner, many of them offer to book your dining reservations as one of their services.

2. Make Celebrations Special At A Disney World Restaurant
Disney loves to celebrate. If you have a special occasion, be sure to mention it when making your reservations or upon checking in to the restaurant. You may get a surprise with your dessert.
If you want to ensure you have a special dessert to make a celebration special, Disney has a few options.
You can order a cake in advance to be delivered to your table. Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake is a Mickey shaped dome cake complete with ears and a tail. It comes in either all chocolate or all vanilla and serves 4-6 people. You can even have it delivered to your hotel room. Order by calling (407) 827-2253 or click HERE for more information.
For a more elaborate dessert, you can pre-order specialty cakes from Amorette’s Patisserie, located in Disney Springs. They do not deliver to restaurants, but will deliver to your resort. To place an order, call (407) 934-3500 or swing by the shop at least 72 hours in advance.

Looking for a bigger celebration? You can order gifts and gift baskets delivered directly to your room. Contact Disney Floral and Gifts. It’s also a great way to surprise your family and celebrate just being together.
3. Some Disney World Restaurants Do Have a Dress Code
Typical park attire is perfectly acceptable in any theme park restaurant and most table service restaurants outside the parks. Theme parks rules are for proper attire are simple: No clothing with offensive graphics or language permitted.
However, there are a few full-service Disney World restaurants where a dress code is recommended.
Restaurants That Suggest a Dress Code:
- Victoria & Alberts (The Grand Floridian)*
- The Edison (Disney Springs)*
- California Grill (Disney’s Contemporary Resort)
- Jiko (Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Resort)
- Monsieur Paul (French Pavilion, Epcot)
- Artist Point (Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort)
- Narcoossee’s (The Grand Floridian)*
- Citricos (The Grand Floridian)*
- Flying Fish Café (Disney’s Boardwalk)
- Yachtsman Steakhouse (Disney’s Yacht Club Resort)
For all above, with the exception of Victoria and Alberts and The Edison, the recommend business casual or resort dress attire. Of course, you are welcome to get even dressier if you like. That being said, you will not be denied entry if you are not wearing the recommended cloths (except for Victoria and Alberts and The Edison which has more stringent, but different policies).
Dress code policy for most Disney World restaurants above:
In order to preserve the atmosphere of this dining experience, Guests are asked to adhere to our dress code.
Appropriate attire for men includes khakis, slacks, jeans, dress shorts and collared shirts; appropriate attire for women includes capris, skirts, dresses, jeans and dress shorts.
Attire that will not be permitted includes tank tops or hats for gentleman, swimwear, cut-offs or torn clothing. In addition, while T-shirts are allowed, T-shirts featuring offensive language and/or graphics are not.
Disney’s dress code policy for Victoria & Albert’s:
Guests must wear proper attire.
Men must wear dinner jackets with dress pants or slacks and shoes. Ties are optional. Women may wear a cocktail dress, nice dress, dressy pantsuit or a skirt with a blouse.
Jeans, shorts, capri pants, sandals, flip-flops or tennis shoes are not permitted.
Dress code policy for The Edison:
After 10:00 PM, The Edison, located in Disney Springs, charges a cover charge for entry as well as a dress code. Those arriving after 10:00 PM each night must wear venue-appropriate attire. Men may wear slacks, jeans or dress shorts. Jackets are optional. No ball caps, sleeveless shirts or flip-flops allowed. Also, after 10:00 PM, you must be over 21 to enter.
4. Plan for Special Dietary Needs
Disney World restaurants are committed to accommodating guests with specific dietary needs.
Most Disney table-service and major quick-service restaurant locations offer allergy-friendly menus or allergy guides to address common allergies and intolerances. If you are making advanced dining reservations online, there is a place to indicate all food allergies. You should discuss any allergy issues and special requirements with a cast member when you arrive at the restaurant.
Many locations are able to accommodate lifestyle requests without any special, advanced arrangements. This includes those with diabetes, gastric bypass, or lap-band concerns. Also included are those seeking low-carbohydrate, low-fat, low-sodium, no-sugar-added, or plant-based options.
For other special meals such as Kosher or Halal meals, those requests can be accommodated as well but arrangements must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Click HERE for more information or talk to your Disney Travel Planner.
5. Why wait online to meet characters when they will come to you
Getting to meet Disney characters is one of the highlights of a Disney vacation. There are many places throughout the parks where you can see them, but why wait on line when you can dine? (Hey, that rhymed!)
Character dining in Disney World is an absolute blast! Imagine Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, or even Stitch stopping by your table. Although character meet and greets had be paused during the pandemic, most are back. Hopefully more will return soon, but until then, here are some tips to make sure you get the most out of your character dining adventure.
First things first, make sure you reserve your spot in advance! Character dining is very popular, and reservations fill up quickly. So make your reservation as soon as you can. You can book up to 60 days in advance, so get on it! But if at first you don’t succeed in getting a spot to dine with your favorite Disney characters, keep trying. Plans change so you could get lucky at finding a cancellation.
Having someone take care of booking your all your dining reservations could be one of the best reasons to work with an authorized Disney vacation planner, like our friends at Destination Magic. They are great at finding those coveted character dining reservations to make sure you get to meet your favorite Disney characters without waiting on line.
Next, don’t forget to bring your camera and an autograph book for the kids. You’re going to want to capture every magical moment with your favorite characters. And the kids can collect autographs which make a very special souvenir. You can find autograph books at many Disney gift shops, but you can also pick them up before your trip. Check your local dollar store. They’ll come right up to your table for photos and autographs, so be ready.
Lastly, make sure you plan enough time for the experience. Character dining takes a little longer than regular meals, so give yourself plenty of time to enjoy it. Plan for around 60-90 minutes, and don’t worry about feeling rushed. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so savor every moment!
5. Get the Most Out of the Disney Dining Plan
The Disney Dining Plan (DDP) allows you to pre-purchase meals for your Walt Disney World Resort Vacation. Based on each night of your stay, each guest on your reservation receives a certain allotment (or credits) of quick-service meals, table-service meals, and snacks. The number of each is dependent upon which plan you choose.
If on the Disney Dining Plan, all the following table-service restaurants will take 1 table service dining credit, with the exception of those listed as Signature dining or Dinner Shows. Those will take 2 table service dining credits.
Some Disney World restaurants package a dinner reservation with a reserved seat at a show, such as Fantasmic in Hollywood Studios, or a concert in Epcot. Those packages are a great way to get extra value from your Dining Plan credits.
For more tips on how to get the biggest value from the Disney Dining Plan, read What is the Disney Dining Plan and Is it Worth It? If will help you decide if purchasing a dining plan is right for you, and if you do, how to get the most out of it.
List of Table Service Disney World Restaurants
Over the years, my family and I have eaten at nearly every restaurant in the Disney theme parks, and most in the resorts and Disney Springs. Some have been long time favorites while others have had highs and lows. Some of the restaurants not only have good food, some also have a very fun atmosphere, unique décor, or a great location for viewing fireworks.
To keep things fresh, Disney moves their chefs around every few years, and chefs themselves like to change the menu every 6 months or so. You can click the menu links below for the most current posted information. However, the actual menu may be different when you dine there. Even though the exact menu may be different, you will typically find a variety of options including a beef dish, a chicken dish, a pork dish, a fish dish, and a pasta or vegetarian option.
Chefs modify the menus seasonally and may substitute things based on the ingredients available. Plus, chef’s change restaurants every 3 years. A new chef will want to bring his own style to the menu. But generally speaking, this will give you a good guide for what to expect.
To help organize all the Disney World restaurants, they have been organized into categories by location and by type.
